Learn how to read the Grand Staff
Learning to read sheet music is a powerful tool to learn music. If you can read a map, then you can read music. One great thing about reading music is that it never changes. The symbols and terminology has been the same for hundreds of years. This course will help you to easily learn how to read music on the grand staff. It was created with the absolute beginner in mind. You will be introduced to new music concepts and those concepts will be reinforced with songs and quizzes. There are a total of seven sections and each section has multiple lessons. DO NOT SKIP. To fully take advantage of this course it is vital that you go in order and complete each lesson. Enjoy!
Louis Jones has over 20 years of experience playing and teaching music. He has traveled across the states performing and opening for various artists such as Jonathan Butler and Donnie McClurklin. Mr. Jones studied classical piano with Patricia King and studied jazz piano with Harry Appleman at Montgomery College. He received his B.S. degree from High Point University.
His musical influences range from Mozart to Oscar Peterson. He plays the piano, guitar, bass, drums, and the Hammond organ. He currently serves as the Director of Music at a local church. Mr. Jones performs regularly throughout the DC metro area as a studio session musician, music director, and accompanist.
